Chelsea fans have been left rather bemused as they sip their cocktails this evening, as it seems their managerial search is not finalised after all.
Amid widespread reports that state Italy boss Antonio Conte will take charge this summer, Gazzetta Dello Sport state Roman Abramovich was in attendance for Atletico Madrid’s 0-0 draw with PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.
The Spanish giants were held to a goalless draw by the ten-man Dutch side, leaving everything to play for in the second-leg of the Round of 16 match-up, but Abramovich wasn’t there to enjoy a taste of European football that he may not experience next season.
Abramovich’s visit to Holland is said to be for one reason only, with the billionaire Russian owner directly approaching Diego Simeone regarding the managerial position that becomes vacant at the end of the current season.
A last-minute move for Simeone has raised questions in the mind of our landlord, who believes Chelsea may have expressed concerns for Conte’s reign at Stamford Bridge before it has even began.
Chelsea fans, what on earth is going on!? Who do you think will be manager? Let us know in the comments!!
