The Blues fought back to draw 2-2 with Newcastle United at the weekend, in a game they trailed 2-0 at one point, as Mourinho’s horrendous record in Tyneside continued.
Whilst most manager’s would praise their opponents after an inspiring performance, Mourinho decided the best course of action was the hammer the Magpies- stating their performance was ‘typical of a side that wins nothing’.
Mourinho identified that their bullish approach to the game, which saw them put in a great shift against the defending Premier League champions, was how they should play weekly- and the fact they don’t is why they’re languishing at the bottom of the table.
Whilst his analysis was correct, we can’t help but feel there was a nicer way to go about it. Then again, Mourinho has never been one to mince his words and on the face of it this was quite soft from a manager who enjoys picking fights.
