Metro have Chelsea fans looking up with smiles on their faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they seem to think that Jose Mourinho is once again trolling Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
Wenger may have made a quip about Chelsea only ever winning one nil but it seems that the Blues boss has hit back, firstly claiming that Wenger was no rival of his and secondly bringing Cesc Fabregas into the equation.
As one of our punters notes over a beer and burger by the bar, Fabregas is still a rather sore topic for Arsenal fans and we can’t blame them for being a little bit reluctant to discus him, but Mourinho has saved them the trouble.
The Chelsea boss claimed: ‘I can’t talk about the decision for him leaving Arsenal, or what stopped him going back. I don’t know if it was the manager’s or his decision.
‘I just promised him we’d build a team very adapted to his style of play. That he was going to be an important player in our project.
‘And that, normally, good projects end with titles. He was looking for that.’
