Chelsea boss claims star-man will remain at the club next season

HazardChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are counting down the days until Antonio Conte takes charge at Stamford Bridge but they’ve been given some positive news to discuss in the meantime.

The Guardian quotes interim Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink as stating star-man Eden Hazard will not leave Stamford Bridge this summer and the Belgian remains happy with the west London giants.

Hazard has struggled this season and only scored his first Premier League goals of the season at the weekend, as he netted a brace against Bournemouth, and speculation has been rife to suggest the winger will leave this summer.

However, Hiddink believes the player will not be going anywhere.

“After having a bad season normally you are a little bit touched, a little bit hurt as a player and I think he has the capacity to gain it back in the coming years. I don’t know exactly but he has some more years to go [on his contract].”

“What I know he is very happy with everything in Chelsea and around Chelsea. He is very important and if he is fit as he is today showing, not fully fit, he will be very important again next season.”

Our landlord isn’t too sure though, given the lack of European football Chelsea could have to endure next summer, and he believes one of Europe’s giants will break the bank to capture the Belgian ace.
