Chelsea boss Conte is reportedly open to securing a deal for £185,000-per-week striker this summer

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are keen to see the back of Diego Costa this summer…

Though the Spaniard has become a real favourite in recent years, with his goalscoring filling a really important void in the Chelsea first team since his arrival, his recent form – combined with his antics on and off the field – have made some fans sour on him.

Antonio Conte is seemingly of the same opinion, with the Times reporting that the Italian is ready to cash in on the Spaniard this summer. Though it doesn’t appear as though Chelsea are going to actively seek out a move for Costa, it does seem that if a club comes in for him for a reasonable fee – they would certainly be ready to get the deal done.

There is no doubting that Costa, who reportedly earns £185,000-per-week, has been an excellent servant for Chelsea since his arrival, with his goals often proving vital for the club, but now might be a good time for the two parties to move on. Chelsea would likely stand to make a profit on the Spaniard, given his excellent form for much of the campaign, and so it would really be a no-lose situation for the club.

With the Blues reportedly keen on signing Romelu Lukaku this summer, it would not make sense to have two world class forwards at the club, given that only one will play at any given time, and so our landlord thinks that it could just be a matter of time before Costa leaves.
