Metro seem to be all about Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern today, and their latest claim is no different.
The publication claims that the Blues are of course chasing Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani, but manager Jose Mourinho is playing it coy over the links – for now.
Every single punter in the tavern, Chelsea fan or not, knows that the Blues simply have to bring a forward in this summer, and there are two we seem to be talking about incessantly.
Liverpool forward Luis Suarez is also on the hit list and we spent most of our morning talking about that.
Now we cannot get over the fact that when Mourinho was asked about Cavani potentially moving to Stamford Bridge, this is how he replied: “No, in this moment we are trying to sign nobody.
“He just arrived in the club [PSG] six months ago, maybe the club is happy with him and they don’t want him to leave.
“I have no idea in this moment.”
We don’t believe Mourinho any more than when he claimed that his Chelsea side were not in the title race, as Chelsea know full well that Cavani is looking for a way out of the French capital.
Is Cavani the big name striker who could be heading to Stamford Bridge this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
