Chelsea boss hints at making summer La Liga transfer swoop?

Diego CostaJose Mourinho may be trophyless but he is box office gold for his comments and Metro have more quotes we are keen to hear today in the Football Transfer Tavern.

The publication have claimed that the Chelsea boss has made it very clear that a ‘killer’ forward will be coming in this summer and it seems the player in question could well be Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa.

We ponder just who Mourinho might be talking about whilst we wait for our beer and burgers and it seems that those Costa links will not go away.

Chelsea are desperate for a top class forward and we have seen the likes of Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba all fail in front of goal for long periods this season.

It comes as no shock that Mourinho claimed: “Against the teams that are more defensive, more aggressive, more worried about trying to keep a clean sheet than really to play, we keep saying the same.

“We have good players but we don’t have the kind of striker able to, in a short space, make an action, to score a goal, to open the gate.

“In these kind of matches you just need to open the gate. When you open the gate, you win much more.

“We have to try to improve as a team but also add the attacking player with that killer instinct and number of goals that push teams to different levels.”

Is Costa the striker that Chelsea quite simply have to recruit at all costs this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
