Chelsea fans have a smile on their faces for the first time here in the Football Transfer Tavern as Metro claim Jose Mourinho is trying to lure a forward to the club.
After the dismal performance of Fernando Torres in their Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain last night, now Mourinho is casting his net further afield, and it seems that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is at the top of that list.
The pair enjoyed a successful time together at Inter Milan, and as we know, Ibra wins league titles everywhere he goes!
The dream of the all-elusive Champions League title is still haunting him, but after his side’s 3-1 win over Chelsea, there could be one on the horizon this season.
Mourinho spoke about the legendary Swedish forward, and despite Zlatan claiming that he will never play in the Premier League, Mourinho was quite vocal about the situation
The Blues boss said “I think it’s a pity for him when he finishes his career and he played in the most important countries in the world of football, and won the most important championships in the world of football, but he didn’t play in the best league in the world and never won the best league in the world.”
He also made it very clear that despite both having big personalities, he would be happy to work with the player again. Then again, after the performance of Torres, that is no wonder!
Is Mourinho wasting his time with a charm offensive directed at the PSG forward? Is he more likely to land his PSG team-mate Edinson Cavani? Let us know your thoughts below.
