The Daily Telegraph have Chelsea fans smiling rather a lot today in the Football Transfer Tavern and linking them with a forward is a sure fire way to become their favourite publication.
They seem to think that Jose Mourinho has eyed Loic Remy as his £8 million replacement for Fernando Torres who is departing SW6 for AC Milan.
Now it seems that Chelsea are determined to do one more final piece of business before the end of the transfer window and it could well be the Queens Park Rangers forward with talks already well under way.
Remy spent last season on loan at Newcastle United and was a resounding success before failing a medical at Liverpool earlier this summer. It now seems that Liverpool’s loss could well be Chelsea’s gain as Mourinho looms large.
Chelsea have been linked with a whole host of forwards this summer and as one of our punters notes, the ideal second choice forward could well be Remy.
With Diego Costa more often than not looking like getting the nod, someone else who can be relied on as a back up is simply a must for the Blues.
Chelsea fans. Out of all the strikers you have been linked with, is Remy a reasonable choice this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
