Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern cannot wait to hear the latest news from The Express and rush over to hear the gossip from our landlord.
The Blues are reportedly considering allowing Romelu Lukaku to leave this summer in order to bring in two world class forwards, but there is a twist in the tale.
Jose Mourinho is willing to let the striker depart – but will not allow him to remain in England.
The Belgium international has shown exactly how deadly he can be this season, and although Mourinho is not convinced he can lead the Chelsea line, he does not want to risk the forward performing for another one of Chelsea’s rivals.
This is of course bad news for Everton, who have seen the former Anderlecht forward become a key part of their side and flourish, but Lukaku himself wants to play for a top club in the world, and one who is in the Champions League.
Luckily for him, there are a host of clubs desperate to land his signature, with Borussia Dortmund and Roma heading the list.
Our landlord also points out that this clearly shows that Mourinho is determined to bring in other options up top and we think that Diego Costa and indeed Edinson Cavani will be at the top of that list.
Will Mourinho regret allowing Lukaku too leave the club? Let us know your thoughts below.
