Chelsea fans are stunned here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they hear the latest claim coming from Metro regarding their beloved manager Jose Mourinho.
Not only have the Blues faithful had to face seeing Frank Lampard excel for Manchester City in recent weeks but they may now also have to deal with their legend of a manager joining a rival club in the future.
Now before Chelsea fans get all irate, our landlord quickly points out that this was a hypothetical question posed to Mourinho, who answered in his typically coy and controversial manner, claiming that he could not rule anything out in the future.
Despite our regulars noting that we think Mourinho will be staying at Chelsea for a fair bit of time yet, the Portuguese tactician claimed that he could manage elsewhere in England after already conquering Italy, Spain and his homeland.
The Chelsea boss was asked if he would ever entertain the idea of coaching a rival side such as Arsenal or Liverpool and noted: “If it had to be then yes.
“I know football and know I won’t be here five, eight, ten years if I don’t manage to win. I don’t work in comfort zones – it doesn’t fit my personality.”
Chelsea fans. What on earth would you make of this? Would seeing Mourinho leave for a rival club be worse than losing Lampard to City? Let us know your thoughts below.
