Chelsea can’t afford to make a mistake with this £4.25m-rated striker this summer

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are growing increasingly concerned that Chelsea could look to move on Bertrand Traore this summer…

Chelsea’s loan system has proven to be effective in recent years at not only developing players, but also allowing the Blues to bring young stars in and sell them on several years later for huge profits. At present, all signs are pointing towards a similar fate for Bertrand Traore – but this is a mistake that Antonio Conte simply cannot afford to make.

When he burst onto the scene at Stamford Bridge it was as a youngster during a Chelsea pre-season campaign. Scoring a wonderful goal on his debut, on that day the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern were convinced that he was a star in the making.

Since then, he has continued to impress, scoring regularly whilst on loan at both Vitesse Arnhem and Ajax, and really proving himself as one of Europe’s most exciting players. Undoubtedly, if he wasn’t on loan from Chelsea, he would be touted as one of Europe’s most impressive emerging talents, but as of late he has been lost in the shuffle.

Conte can’t afford not to consider him, though, especially given Chelsea’s current circumstance. Diego Costa looks destined to leave the club this summer, whilst Michy Batshuayi’s lack of game time this year seems to hint that the Belgian could move on – meaning that there is a big opening up front for Chelsea. Traore’s goalscoring record is certainly deserving of a chance.

Chelsae went through so much trouble to secure a work permit for Traore, and it would be a real shame for the Burkina Faso international to miss out on stardom at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea’s loan army is filled with talent, and Traore, who is rated at £4.25m by Transfer Markt, is the best of the bunch.
