Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are making their love for their long-serving captain well-known once again over by the sofas, after it was revealed he’s eying an incredible comeback.
The Sun says John Terry is determined to feature in tomorrow’s mammoth Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain, despite hobbling off with a hamstring problem in the Blues 5-1 demolition of Newcastle United on Saturday.
Terry’s problem is far less significant than initially feared, as scans showed there is no tear in the hamstring. Despite the concerns, Chelsea’s captain is pushing himself to feature in the first-leg of the huge clash in Paris.
Guus Hiddink will take charge of first-team training today and will assess Terry, though questions over the centre-backs fitness could continue right down to the wire.
Chelsea are preparing for their third meeting in as many years with PSG, as they aim to use the European stage to fight back from what has been a disastrous season for the West London outfit so far this term.
Our landlord believes Terry’s determination is admirable and shows exactly why Chelsea should offer the 35-year-old a new contract.
