Chelsea captain fears imminent exit

terryChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are wondering just what else could go wrong, after it’s emerged that they could lose their beloved club captain.

The Evening Standard says 35-year-old John Terry is worried he will be forced out of the club next summer, as he enters the final months of his contract at Stamford Bridge.

No offers have been forthcoming for the club legend, who made his debut in 1998, and it seems Terry could be the latest veteran to endure an unceremonious exit from West London- following in the footsteps of Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole and Didier Drogba.

Terry was a crucial figure in Chelsea’s Premier League success last season, appearing in every minute of the campaign, but has struggled this term in a Blues side that is vastly underperforming- sat 16th, just one point above the relegation zone.

Whilst it’s clear that Terry is past his best, Chelsea fans don’t want to lose him but the possibility is beginning to increase as the former England captain is free to discuss a pre-contractual agreement with clubs outside of English football in January.

Clubs in America and the Far East are interested in the defensive veteran, who could join former team-mates Lampard and Drogba in the MLS.

Chelsea fans, would it be a mistake to let Terry go? Let us know in the comments below!
