Chelsea captain ready to reject lucrative China switch

Arsenal v Chelsea - Barclays Premier LeagueChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are pleased to hear the reports that have accompanied their pot pies this afternoon, with it stated their beloved captain will not move to the Far East.

The Daily Mirror says Blues skipper John Terry, who is set to leave Chelsea at the end of the season when his contract expires, has been approached by many Chinese clubs- but he will reject a move to Asia.

China has flexed their financial muscles in recent weeks with numerous acquisitions, which include grabbing Ramires from Chelsea, Ezequiel Lavezzi from Paris Saint-Germain and Jackson Martinez from Atletico Madrid.

Numerous Chinese clubs wanted Terry to be a major addition this summer but the former England captain will turn his back on their advances, as the experienced defender favours a move to the MLS or to Qatar.

Our landlord feels the MLS is the most likely and best destination for the defender, where he could link-up with former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard and compatriot Steven Gerrard.
