Chelsea look all but out of the title race and face a massive fight on their hands to even land a top four spot in the Premier League this term, as Antonio Conte has struggled to get his men up to the task of retaining their title.
The Blues have dithered at times and inconsistencies have plagued their season, with some off-field issues also being reported as Conte and his board appear to have come to blows over certain transfers.
With the summer-bound to be a crucial period for a number of top flight clubs, Chelsea will be no exception, and our landlord here in the Tavern thinks Conte will act to move a few players out before hoping to add and reshape his squad ahead of the 18/19 campaign.
One player he thinks is at serious risk after only one season in England is midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, who has struggled for form to say the very least since arriving in a big money move from Monaco.
The powerhouse central midfield man was meant to come in and offer something different for the Blues, but his arrival has not been greeted well, nor has his form been good, and a shocking display against Watford live on TV a few weeks back did nothing to change many people’s opinions.
If the Blues opt to spend big in the summer, then Bakayoko could be one who finds his place under threat as the club looks for newer, fresher faces, and it would be no surprise to see the midfielder back in the French league come the summer.
Chelsea fans, what do you think? Should Bakayoko go? Let us know in the comments!
