Here in the Football Transfer Tavern, Metro seem to think that Chelsea are in a three way battle for 19-year-old Saint-Etienne defender Kurt Zouma.
The young star has been linked with a host of clubs and indeed leagues in the past and now feels that it is time to continue his footballing education away from his current club.
After breaking though to the French Under-21 international side and attracting admiring glances from all over Europe, our landlord noted that we too feel it is time for a big move.
The young starlet’s agent spoke to French publication L’Equipe and noted that there were a host of options for the talented young star and Chelsea were the pick of the bunch.
He noted: ‘Serie A is an interesting destination, as are Inter, for the tactical growth of the lad,
“Of course he wouldn’t mind moving to the Premier League, hopefully to Chelsea, where he could work with Jose Mourinho or to Monaco in Ligue 1.
“There were other sides interested, such as Newcastle, but now it’s a three-horse race.”
Zouma would be available for around £10 million, which is small change to a side like Chelsea and given the club are looking to build their side with young, talented players, it seems like the ideal buy.
