Things are never dull at Chelsea football club and we at the Football Transfer Tavern feel that we talk about them far too much sometimes, but given stories like the one in the Daily Mirror it is not really surprising.
The club are often in the media for all the wrong reasons usually given the hiring and firing of managers at such a rate that makes Alan Sugar look positively slow, so there is usually always plenty to talk about.
The reason Chelsea are in our thoughts today is an entirely different matter however. The Mirror claim that a £1.7 million bid for teenage sensation Cristian Cuevas has been accepted after the talent impressed during a trial at the club. The youngster has already got an impressive CV having played for the Chilean Under-21 national team and is regarded as one of the hottest young properties around.
Chelsea of course like to snap up players they think are on the up and don’t really consider the consequences of taking such young talent and keeping it on the bench as many former players can attest to, yet with the club now trying to take a new direction and bring new young players through, Cuevas is seen as a perfect start to this directive.
Can Cuevas be a future star at Chelsea? Let us know your thoughts below.
