There is an absolutely sensational claim in Metro today who think that Jose Mourinho could well be set to show two of Chelsea’s big name players the door when he takes over this summer.
The manager is apparently looking to raise cash and assert his authority on the Blues to prepare for his second spell in charge and now it seems that he is prepared to firstly boot £50 million forward Fernando Torres out of the club – something that is not exactly the biggest shock in the world – in order to free up not only a place in the squad but also to raise some funds to bring in another forward.
Shockingly however the manager is also considering selling star man of the last couple of seasons – Juan Mata who has been ever present and even in the worst times, one of the leading lights in the Chelsea side.
Quite how far this is to be believed is another thing and as one of our punters quips, to let Mata go would be downright stupid unless Mesut Ozil or Andres Iniesta were on the first flight from Spain to London.
Chelsea of course have been linked with the likes of Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic in recent weeks and the transfer rumours look set to only increase as the summer hits fever pitch.
Surely Mourinho would be bonkers to boot Mata out of SW6? Rate this rumour below.
