Chelsea are set for a busy summer under Antonio Conte at the end of the season and the lands in the Transfer Tavern are keen to see this quality deal pushed over the line.
Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb state Chelsea have contacted the agent of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore, as they look to bolster their struggling midfield ranks with some quality recruits.
The Argentine international arrived in France four-years ago from Palermo, in a deal that cost PSG £30m, and he’s been a influential member of the squad ever since, helping the side from the French capital win four successive Ligue 1 crowns.
However, with a wealth of changes expected to be made by PSG this summer, interest in Pastore is high and Chelsea have joined Manchester City in the race for the midfielder’s signature.
If PSG were to approve a sale, they’d be looking to recoup the £30m price they paid Palermo for his services four years ago but with the player still just 26-years-old, it’s a price that would certainly be worth paying.
