The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have very high hopes for young Bertrand Traore…
Impressing for the Blues during a pre-season tour, the Burkina Faso international has spent the majority of his time at Chelsea on loan, most recently at Ajax last season.
He has impressed over the course of his various tenures, too, with 9 goals in the Dutch top-flight during his spell with Ajax.
However, it doesn’t look like Chelsea have any real intention of giving him a chance back at Stamford Bridge again, with L’Equipe reporting that the Blues could be ready to move the striker on, with the club apparently ready to do a €20 million (£17.3 million) deal for him. Significantly, according to L’Equipe, Lyon could look to discuss a move for the striker over the coming weeks, with the French outfit reportedly keen on him as they look to improve their squad this summer.
It would be a disappointing end to Traore’s tale at Chelsea, with the striker actually impressing during the 2015-16 campaign following his promotion to the Blues first team. He picked up 2 goals over the course of that Premier League campaign, though his performances seemingly weren’t enough to prevent a loan deal to Ajax thereafter.
Our landlord definitely thinks that he has a big future, but with Antonio Conte likely to invest heavily this summer, a return to Chelsea might not be the best idea…
