Chelsea dealt bitter blow in pursuit of £60m Brazilian star

The Premier League is slowly creeping towards us and for Antonio Conte and Chelsea, the defence of their title starts with a home tie against Burnley.

The Blues will go into the game as clear favourites for the title having won it so convincingly last time around, but with many of their rivals spending serious money in an attempt to catch up, it’s certainly not going to be easy.

Having brought in the likes of Morata, Rudiger and Bakayoko already this summer, Chelsea are looking increasingly strong and well stocked throughout the whole of their team.

But one man that won’t be joining this summer is Juventus defender Alex Sandro, who coach Massimiliano Allegri says won’t be sold in the slightest over the coming weeks.

Sandro has become a key part of the Turin side’s team over the past couple of years and his manager isn’t going to let him go without a fight.

Speaking after Juventus fell to a 2-0 pre-season defeat to Spurs on Saturday, Allegri said: “Alex Sandro is a Juventus player and he will stay one.”

When asked again whether his defender has any possibility of making the move to the Bridge, Allegri said: “No chance.”

A comprehensive no from the Juventus manager, who really seems to rate his defender. It’s easy to see- Sandro has helped Juventus to consecutive League and Coppa Italia wins having joined the club from Porto back in 2015.

Landlord’s Verdict

Alex Sandro is undoubtedly one of the most promising left-backs in the world and you can see why Chelsea would want to bring a player of his quality to the club.

But Juventus seem pretty confident that they’re not going to sell their second full-back of the summer and it’s clear to see why.

Chelsea might have to come back another time but at least they are well stocked in this position already.

Chelsea fans- a big blow or are you happy with the likes of Azpilicueta and Alonso here already? Leave your thoughts down below!
