Chelsea determined to rectify mistake and re-sign prolific striker

LukakuChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are pleased to see their side is looking to rectify a previous mistake and bring a talented player back to Stamford Bridge, to ensure they don’t have to deal with any more punishment watching him shine elsewhere.

The Daily Star states Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is keen to re-sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton, who left Stamford Bridge just two years ago to join the Toffees in a £28m deal.

Since making the permanent move to Goodison Park, which came after a successful season on-loan in Merseyside, Lukaku has developed into one of the finest strikers in the Premier League and his goals helped knock Chelsea out of the FA Cup earlier this season.

Chelsea possess no buy-back clause in the deal that saw the 22-year-old leave West London, which means they’ll have to pay a high price to bring him back this summer, but Abramovich is ready to sanction a vast spending spree this summer.

The Blues have endured an awful campaign and could still finish as low as 16th in the Premier League should results go against them.
