Chelsea draw up 3 man shortlist as Conte looks to resolve goalkeeping dilemma

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to get seriously concerned about the future of Asmir Begovic…

The goalkeeper is reportedly on course for a move to Bournemouth, and whilst he has rarely featured this season – his role within the Chelsea squad is clear. At any point, Begovic is just one injury to Thibaut Courtois away from becoming a regular starter for the Blues – meaning that if he does leave, Chelsea need to ensure that a decent replacement is found.

It would appear as though Antonio Conte is ready for a potential departure, though, with a list of 3 players reportedly being considered as a replacement, should Begovic leave.

According to the Telegraph, Diego Lopez, Fernando Muslera and Celtic man Craig Gordon are all being considered by Antonio Conte – with the Italian seemingly keen to ensure that this saga is tied up over the course of the next few days.

All options offer something different for Chelsea, with Craig Gordon offering Premier League experience – whilst both Diego Lopez and Fernando Muslera have impressed over the last few years.

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are, however, still hoping that Begovic remains at the club – as they think that he is simply the best option for the Blues at present. He has been solid whenever he has played, and whilst Courtois has remained fit – the fear of him going down with an injury is ever present.

Begovic, though, will likely be keen on a move – given that he will likely be a regular starter for Bournemouth. He has only featured in cup competition for Chelsea so far this season, and that is a disappointing role for a player of his quality.
