Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have ordered a glass of bubbly to celebrate some positive news, which they’ve waited for throughout the season.
Spirits were high after Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace and the excitement has now been kicked up a notch, with The Telegraph reporting the Blues have taken a step closer to landing Alex Teixeira from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Reports indicate that Chelsea’s Brazilian duo Willian and Oscar have helped carve out the deal, persuading their close friend and compatriot to move to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues, in the helms of Guus Hiddink until the close of the season, have been eying Teixeira for some time and the news is finally positive- with Chelsea fans accustomed to seeing the opposite side of reports throughout the season.
Chelsea will be hoping that they can continue their current form and bring in the right sort of players to get their season back on track, with the aim of miraculously turning their campaign around and landing a top-four spot.
