One of Football Transfer Tavern’s favourite strikers could be on the way to the Premier League as Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is eyeing a move for Borussia Dortmund’s and long-term Manchester United target Robert Lewandowski according to Metro.
Mourinho is desperate to add at least one world class centre forward to his squad and Lewandowski is seen as the perfect signing by many in West London with the likes of Fernando Torres and Demba Ba perhaps heading towards the exit.
The Blues have been in talks with Napoli over striker Edinson Cavani in recent days but the Uruguyan prefers a move to Mourinho’s old club Real Madrid.
Dortmund are refusing to sell another key player to the interested Bayern Munich this summer after midfielder Mario Gotze has already been confirmed as a Bayern player for next season.
Lewandowski scored four goals against Real Madrid last season in their Champions League semi-final and has shown his consistency in front of goal over the past two seasons leaving clubs such as Chelsea desperate to sign the £25 million rated Polish international.
