Chelsea enter the race for Real Madrid man and could use Belgian performer as bait

The Chelsea supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern are just about over their hangovers following a season of triumph for the Blues, who reclaimed their Barclays Premier League crown and qualified for the Champions League.

In order for Antonio Conte’s men to have a real go at being a force on the European stage it is vital that the squad is strengthened this summer and some stellar players arriving at Stamford Bridge would be extremely helpful.

An article has been spotted in today’s Sunday Express by our landlord here in the bar and it claims that the Premier League holders have surprisingly entered the race to sign Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

Ronaldo looks set to leave the La Liga and Champions League winners and West London could be a possible destination for the man who has conquered all in Spain.

It looks likely that the Spanish giants will demand £150 million for the global star and naturally the Blues would face stiff competition from some of Europe’s other top clubs, should they opt to enter the race for his signature.

The piece also suggests that the Chelsea owner is keen to secure Ronaldo on the back of a swap deal that would involve Belgian star Eden Hazard going in the opposite direction, although some of the Blues supporters here in the Tavern are not too sure about such a deal.

A couple of Blues supporters are enjoying a game of pool here in the Tavern and they are delighted that Chelsea appear to be in the race to sign such a star player, although they do concede that they remain perhaps unconvinced that the club can pull off such a deal this summer.

Chelsea fans, would you welcome Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge? Let us know in the comments below!!!
