Chelsea fans taking a look at the Transfer Tavern’s house menu are pleased to overhear some positive news concerning their club, which states a highly-rated youngster will be snapped up.
The London Evening Standard states Chelsea are confident Rubens Loftus-Cheek will pen a new deal at Stamford Bridge, with the young midfielder enjoying more regular opportunities in the first-team frame.
Since Jose Mourinho’s axe, Loftus-Chee has enjoyed a rise to form under new boss Guus Hiddink and netted his first Blues goal in the weekend’s FA Cup third-round victory over Scunthorpe United.
The 19-year-old is highly-rated amongst the Blues ranks and has taken his chance in the first-team with both hands, though it remains to be seen whether Hiddink will continue to trust the teenager as he aims to fight back from an atrocious first-half of the season for Chelsea.
With the side languishing in the bottom-half of the Premier League table, Loftus-Cheek may not be trusted with such a role- but our fans believe he should, stating the youngster has shown more determination that many of his senior counterparts.
Our landlord believes Loftus-Cheek is incredibly talented and hopes he continues to get a chance to shine.
