Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are bemused at where their London rivals have found this figure after the Daily Express revealed West Ham will sell Aaron Cresswell only if the Blues make a bid of £20m.
Chelsea are expected to allow Filipe Luis to return to Atletico Madrid after spending the majority of the season on the bench.
So, Jose Mourinho has targeted Cresswell as a replacement for Luis following his superb breakthrough season in the Premier League.
Cresswell, 25, who was signed from Championship outfit Ipswich Town in the summer, and is now potentially on the verge of signing for Premier League giants Chelsea.
But the Blues will only get their man if they can meet West Ham’s price tag of £20m as the Hammers are looking to improve their squad, as they are set to move into the Olympic Stadium.
And with Luis expected to depart the club, Chelsea believe they must replace the Brazilian with an English left back as they hope to add more and more English players to their squad.
