Chelsea eyeing summer transfer swoop for a new forward already – Report

Chelsea fans here in the Tavern are disappointed with yesterday’s defeat against Manchester United, as the Blues now sit outside the Champions League places.

Antonio Conte’s side almost got off to the best possible start at Old Trafford after Alvaro Morata’s shot thundered back off the crossbar, but the Blues’ woes quickly returned as Willian’s opener was overshadowed in a 2-1 defeat. Although, the club have quickly turned their attention to building for the future, as they lay the foundations for success to be achieved once again at Stamford Bridge. Indeed, according to reports in the Mirror, Chelsea are set to do battle with Barcelona for £25m-rated starlet Yann Karamoh.

The Blues have instructed scouts to keep an eye on the teenager for the rest of the season, as this year’s progress hasn’t gone unnoticed by the London club. And, it looks as if Chelsea have the upper-hand in signing the starlet, after it was revealed that the winger would prefer a move to England.

The 19-year-old signed for Inter Milan on a two-year loan deal with the Italian side obliged to buy him at expiry, but this won’t have any effect on the fact that both Chelsea and Barcelona are looking at a permanent deal in the summer. And, it’s safe to say that his performances so far this season in the Serie A have been sensational, as he continues to make huge strides having earned himself a regular starting place.

Although, Barcelona seems to be following on in a similar style to the Blues after sending out scouts for the remainder of the season, in what could turn out to be summer transfer window revenge for the losing party in the Champions League.

Landlord’s Verdict:

The Blues will be hoping to bring Karamoh to the Bridge in the summer, but will be wary of the pulling power that the Spanish giants have. Although, having seen the lack of youth in the Chelsea first-team squad in seasons gone by, it remains to be seen as to whether the 19-year-old would stagnate in the London club’s ranks. But, our local residents are looking on with positivity as they hope that bringing the winger to the English capital could see them uncover a future star.
