Chelsea eyeing January move for dynamic midfielder

pastoreChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have raised their eyebrows at the latest transfer rumour they’ve read, which suggests an international star could be arriving on-loan in January.

The Daily Express states the Blues have joined the race for Paris Saint-Germain misfit Javier Pastore, who has seen his first-team opportunities decrease dramatically following the summer arrival of Angel Di Maria.

Pastore, a reported target for Arsenal, Liverpool, Juventus and Inter Milan, cost the French giants £30m when he arrived in Palermo back in 2011 but the 26-year-old may now be considered surplus to requirements in Paris.

Chelsea need recruits in January as they sit ten points behind Manchester City already, winning just three Premier League matches, which has left their title defence in tatters. Star-players have not been performing as expected, with Eden Hazard the latest big-name to be dropped by Jose Mourinho.

Our Chelsea regulars are surprised by the links to Pastore and would rather their club secured a bigger, more lucrative deal in January.

Chelsea fans, would the addition of Pastore help save your season? Let us know in the comments below!
