Chelsea face battle to land enforcer

lovren.jpgToday it seems that Chelsea are the talk of the day here at the Football Transfer Tavern and the Daily Express claim that Chelsea will face competition from Roma for top transfer target Dejan Lovren.

The centre back who currently plays for Lyon is looking for a summer move and now it seems that not just Chelsea are after his services but now Italian giants Roma have added themselves to the race along with Liverpool and Everton.

The £8.5 million rated centre back has seen his value skyrocket and despite being under contract at the Stade Gerland until 2016, he is being touted as the next potential John Terry replacement and Chelsea are willing to make a big money move in terms of contract fee and wages to match it.

The Croatian international gave a decent account of himself during the Europa League game against Spurs and is clearly a combative competitor.

Chelsea may be looking for a new manager this summer after things have not worked out with the interim one but their chase for new players is still rolling on full speed ahead and in the same day that the Radamel Falcao rumours have returned the club now have to contend with serious competition for Lovren.
