Chelsea face problem if they don’t land this target in January

Alex TeixeiraChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern downing a few pints to sink their sorrows are concerned that their problems will rise further after reading the latest transfer reports.

The Daily Mirror says Chelsea have been warned they will have to overpay to land Alex Teixeira next summer, if they fail to bring the Brazilian to the Premier League in January.

Jose Mourinho’s side are in desperate need of new additions in the new year to spark life into their disastrous season, which saw them lose last night to Bournemouth and leave them sat just one point above the relegation zone.

Teixeira is a top target for Chelsea in January but there’s added pressure to complete a deal, as they will have to pay £7m more for the player next summer.

The 25-year-old is a sensational talent, having scored 26 goals from midfield for Shakhtar Donetsk so far this season, and revealed earlier this year that Chelsea are in talks with his Ukrainian side.
