How do you go about replacing a player like Eden Hazard?

Given his quality and how much points he has won for Chelsea since joining the west London club back in 2012, it seems like an impossible task. It is a task, however, the Blues are going to have to overcome.

And some feel that Christian Pulisic could be the answer following his big-money arrival from Borussia Dortmund. The 20-year-old, who is valued at £54m by Transfermarkt, is an extremely talented attacking midfielder who will no doubt be an asset to Chelsea next season.

For a former Blue, though, putting that sort of pressure on Pulisic is simply not fair.

"I wouldn’t say Pulisic is there to fill Hazard’s boots. It’s not fair to put that load on him," Shaun Wright-Phillips told 888sport.

"He’s there to bring another way of playing for Chelsea and he will create his own footprints basically and build his own legacy there at the Bridge. He is definitely a player the fans will like. In America he is rated very, very highly."

Never being a goalscorer, in Wright-Phillips' words, it would not be fair to expect Pulisic to pick up from where Hazard left off and simply unrealistic.

Pulisic is a player more in the playmaker mould than the goalscorer one. He looks to connect play together and create opportunities for his team-mates.

If these current crop of Chelsea players think they can hide behind the USA international like they did with Hazard, then they are sadly mistaken.
