Mason Mount has started life in Chelsea’s first team excellently, scoring four goals for the club in the Premier League so far.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who spent last season on loan with Derby County under the guidance of Frank Lampard, is now one of the first names on the teamsheet at Stamford Bridge, with his performances this term earning him a call-up to the senior England squad, for whom he has now made four caps.
Mount has rapidly become a fan favourite with the Blues faithful, and looks to have a long career ahead of him in west London should he retain the level of performance he has displayed thus far, with some even drawing comparisons between himself and his current manager at the Bridge, including former Blues midfielder Gustavo Poyet.
In a recent debate posted on Twitter, @GoalNews asked whether or not Chelsea fans thought Mount was in fact the new Lampard, and it’s fair to say that many believe that he is…
Spot on Poyet. Some things in the game you can’t teach.
