Callum Hudson-Odoi is one of many young players currently benefitting from Frank Lampard’s trust in youth at Chelsea.
Is Callum Hudson-Odoi Chelsea's best youngster?
The 18-year-old winger started to break into the first-team towards the end of last season, but he was ruled out for the start of the 2019-20 campaign with an achilles injury sustained against Burnley in April.
Since returning, though, the teenager has registered five assists in his opening five appearances for the Blues (all comps, via Transfermarkt). He is tipped for stardom at both club and international level — and it is clear to understand why.
Hudson-Odoi was again influential for Chelsea on Saturday, setting up full-back Marcos Alonso to score the only goal of the game against Newcastle as the west Londoners made it three consecutive wins in the top-flight.
His passion during the celebrations at Stamford Bridge on Saturday clearly shows just how much it means for him to be back playing again, and these Chelsea fans are absolutely loving it:
His love for the club don’t need to be questioned…He is a young boy who wanted to play that’s all
