Chelsea: Fans disagree with Frank Lampard’s remark about Cesar Azpilicueta
Some Chelsea fans on Twitter are in complete disagreement with one thing Frank Lampard said following the Blues’ 2-0 win against Crystal Palace in Saturday’s early kick-off (Sky Sports).
Lampard says it was a difficult decision putting Reece James in for the in-form Cesar Azpilicueta because of everything our captain offers on and off the pitch, but he feels vindicated by the youngster’s performance on what was his full Premier League debut. #CHECRY

Following the victory, the manager was asked about his decision to include Reece James in the starting XI and ultimately, the resulting choice to drop captain Cesar Azpilicueta in the process.
Lampard revealed that it was a difficult decision to make because of what the Spaniard brings to the side on and off the pitch, although it appeared another part of the explanation he gave was what appeared to cause discussion.
The manager stated that Azpilicueta was ‘in-form’ to which had a plethora of fans disagreeing with him and calling for James to permanently replace the veteran in the starting XI moving forward.
The versatile defender and leader has been subjected to some fierce criticism since the start of the campaign, however Lampard has openly defended his captain and former team-mate in the past, although it appears he still has some work to do to win over all his detractors.
