The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern were hoping for the best against Burnley on Thursday night. The Blues have had a difficult month or two, and the only hope that they have of finishing in the top four rests on them winning every single one of their remaining games.
Even then, that might not be enough, but the least that they can do is try.
They certainly did try on Thursday, with a spirited and dedicated performance from Antonio Conte’s men earning them a deserved three points. An own goal and a tidy finish from Victor Moses won the game for the Blues, and that was enough to send the Stamford Bridge faithful home happy on their long journey back from Burnley.
However, it wasn’t an easy night for all of Chelsea’s players. In particular, Alvaro Morata really struggled, with the Spaniard missing a one-on-one chance, and he otherwise had a pretty poor night in general too.
A divisive forward, Morata has had a tough spell in England, and so it wouldn’t be a surprise to find out that the Chelsea fans have turned on him.
However, that clearly hasn’t happened, judging by the responses to a recent message from him sent over on Twitter.
Reacting to the game, Morata took to Twitter to celebrate the three points, whilst he also apologised for the frustration that he showed after he was substituted in the second half. He was visibly frustrated upon taking his seat on the bench.
Three important points for us. The best way to get ready for Sunday’s game was winning today. I want to apologize for my reaction when I was sent to the bench, when I fail I get really angry with myself. pic.twitter.com/Vxg4eC7X3Q

In response to the Tweet, Chelsea fans have had a pretty surprising reaction. His poor performance and disappointing recent form would certainly give fans the right to state their frustration – but that hasn’t happened. Instead, they’ve been incredibly positive and optimistic.
Indeed, they’ve all got the same message for him – keep working and it will get better!
Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…
Don’t worry Alvaro the real ones know how good you are and know you will shut a lot of people up.
