Chelsea fans will have been going into their away clash with Malmo last night in the Europa League with a few nerves. It was the Blues first game since they were thoroughly humiliated by Manchester City last Sunday, however, a number of stars stepped up as they won 2-1 and one of those was the often criticised Willian.

Chelsea’s electric winger started the clash and played just over 70 minutes before being replaced by Eden Hazard. Those minutes, though, were enough to see the Brazilian register an assist as he set up the Blues’ second goal when he squared the ball from the byline for Olivier Giroud to flick home from a matter of yards, and it was something that the fans loved seeing.
The slick passing and decisive play on the counter-attack was what they could have done with against Manchester City when they were thoroughly humbled 6-0, however, that game is now behind them and after the impressive bounce-back win Maurizio Sarri will be keen to get some form going. To do that, he may just have to rely on Willian a little bit more as it’s clear that the Brazilian offers more than Pedro.

The Blues were delighted with Willian’s display and will hope the Brazilian can maintain that level of performance over the next few months to help them finish the season strongly.
