While Chelsea’s No.9 dilemma should be coming to an end with the signing of Gonzalo Higuain, Maurizio Sarri will still have concerns about other areas of his squad.
The Italian has made it abundantly clear on more than one occasion that the Blues would need to sign a replacement for Cesc Fabregas this month (Sky Sports) with Jorginho needing cover in the deep-lying midfield role.
With that in mind, the west London club had identified Zenit St Petersburg’s Leandro Paredes as one potential option, though the Telegraph reports a deal now looks unlikely after Paris Saint-Germain swooped in with a £34.9m offer for the 24-year-old.
Given that Jorginho’s form has dipped of late with Sarri admitting the Brazilian-born Italy international is tired (Goal), missing out on Paredes will come as a huge blow.
The Argentine looked like a great alternative for Jorginho with his vision and immaculate range of passing.
You can have a look at what Chelsea supporters are saying on the reported development below…
So we sold Fabregas and Sarri says that we need a replacement, yet the board aren't willing to get in a replacement. Right then…

Why aren’t the club appointing a director? Do we even have a project at the minute? Everything seems a shambles. Stupid questions asked at today’s presser once again.

Are chelsea even interested in competing with Europe’s elite or have they taken the position that they will be in the 2nd or 3 rd tier ? If marina g n roman have decided on the latter they should let supporters know of their new( maybe not so new) strategy/ position

Same way we are unsure whether or not we needed a striker and Hugain last summer – despite Sarri requesting it, only to suddenly realised that the success of our campaign this season depends on us signing him in January
Well done Chelsea board !!

So technically they are not backing the manager as he clearly said he wanted a replacement for Fabregas. Same old story already.

Chelsea Board is disgusted, utterly worst ever because they spent nearly 100mil for Drinkwater (35 mil), Bakayoko (40mil), Barkley (15mil) and refuse to spend on Player who has potential to become world's best REGISTA.#disgusting #chelseaboard
