Michael Hector will join Championship outfit Fulham in January, after the Cottagers agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign the sign the out-of-favour defender.
Hector, who failed to make a single senior appearance for the Blues since joining the west Londoners from Reading in 2015, will train with his new club ahead of the transfer window reopening in four months’ time.
The 28-year-old has spent the previous four seasons on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, Hull City, Eintracht Frankfurt and Reading and was clearly never going to break into the first-team fold at Stamford Bridge given the competition of the likes of Kurt Zouma, Antonio Rudiger, Fikayo Tomori and Andreas Christensen.
He’ll now look to establish himself in a Fulham side hoping to bounce straight back to the Premier League following their relegation from the top-flight last season.
Chelsea released the news of Hector’s situation on their official Twitter page earlier, and it provoked some pretty funny responses from Blues supporters. Here’s how they reacted:

Still got Marco Van Ginkel lol but otherwise a great window for clearing out the forgotten sub standard players from the cupboard under the stairs but please for the love of God after the embargo no more like this if they’re never going to get near the 1st team then leave them be
