Chelsea fans have been reacting on Twitter to the news that one of Andriy Shevchenko's children is currently playing for the club's academy.

Speaking in an interview with Ukrainian media outlet Vesti.ua, the national team manager revealed London is still considered "home" and that his second son was developing his game with the Stamford Bridge outfit.

"I have been living in London for the past 13 years," he said. "My family is there, it's convenient there, plus I wanted my children to go to school there."

He later added: "My second son is training at Chelsea Academy. This is a very good school, which has brought through more than a dozen players of excellent level."

Indeed, fans have had a mixed reaction to the news and it would appear many of them have a rather split opinion regarding what could happen in the future.

It would not be a surprise if there was a desire that Shevchenko's son had a better time in SW6 than he did, as things did not quite go to plan following his then-British record €45m (£30.8m) transfer in 2006 -  a deal that had Jose Mourinho admit his "dream had become a reality" (The Guardian).

In his 77 games for the Blues over three years, he managed to net just 22 times - with just nine of those coming in the Premier League (175 goals in his 322 appearances during his prolific spell at AC Milan.

Here are just some of those reactions...
