It’s been a long time coming, but Chelsea were back in action earlier today (Monday) – with Maurizio Sarri’s bow as the new boss at Stamford Bridge coming against Perth Glory over in Australia. It was the Blues’ first game of pre-season, and it posed an exciting proposition.
Not only was it Maurizio Sarri’s first game, but it was also Jorginho’s, and given how poor the Blues were last season, nobody could predict how well they would perform.
Fortunately for the club, for the most part, Chelsea delivered with an impressive display. They were able to beat the Australian outfit 1-0 thanks to a first half-goal by Pedro, with the Spaniard looking good for his team.
Other impressive names were Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ross Barkley and new signing Jorginho. However, not all were so fortunate.
Indeed, one player that has drawn a lot of ire online is Tiemoue Bakayoko. Bakayoko had a poor season last year, and judging by his display against Perth Gory, not much has changed.
Many Chelsea supporters have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration at his continued mixed fortunes.
Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…

Bakayoko is proof that the people calling the shots at #cfc have no clue about what a good player is. Has literally given the ball away 90% of the time today and has the same level of fitness training that the rest of he team. He's an absolute fraud.

Bakayoko & Morata need to leave #CFC

I can’t believe Morata and Bakayoko cost Chelsea a combined £100m. Could’ve used that money to buy Ronaldo instead. #CFC

Nah definitely same old Bakayoko

Bakayoko looked ok but he clearly doesn't fit the type of football Sarri is trying to implement.
Morata looked hopeless as well.

Bakayoko, Kalas, Piazon didn't do themselves any favours.
