Chelsea’s Charly Musonda has had it tough recently, there is no denying that.
Can Frank Lampard steer Chelsea to a top-four finish?
The 23-year-old was tipped for stardom long before now, but after a failed loan spell in Scotland with Celtic and problems with his knee, regular football at Stamford Bridge still hangs firmly in the balance for the young midfielder.
In a recent in-depth interview with the Independent, Musonda admits that he is “100% confident” that he will be a star for the Blues in the future.
After suffering a severe injury to his knee at the beginning of pre-season last year, Musonda has only just returned to playing for Vitesse.
He is currently on a season-long loan with the Dutch outfit but hopes to once again return to Stamford Bridge as a regular fixture in Frank Lampard’s new, youthful-looking side.
Yesterday, Musonda turned 23 and the club have wished him well on Twitter, with some Blues supporters clearly still hopeful that his career in west London will finally take off when he returns from his loan spell in Holland.
