Last night was a night that young Callum Hudson-Odoi will never forget. The 18-year-old started his first game for England away against Montenegro and shone as the Three Lions recorded a convincing 5-1 win in their second European qualifier. However, now that he’s got that first England start, Chelsea fans want his first Premier League start to follow.

It’s absolutely unheard of that a player in the top flight can make their first England start before their first Premier League start, yet that’s the case with Hudson-Odoi, and the Blues are putting that down to Maurizio Sarri more than anything else. As far as they’re concerned, the youngster is more than ready to start for them in the Premier League, and they’d pick him over Willian every day of the week.
In what has undoubtedly been Hudson-Odoi’s breakthrough season this year, the youngster has been electric. Whilst the top flight of English football has remained elusive, the Europa League has been where Hudson-Odoi has been a machine, and his return of four goals and two assists in eight games is something that the fans want to see in the Premier League, especially now he’s shown what he can do on the international stage.

The Blues still cannot fathom why Sarri continually ignores Hudson-Odoi and will be desperate for him to be thrown in against Cardiff when that game comes around this Sunday.
