Chelsea: Fans were delighted with Emerson Palmieri’s performance against Norwich City

Frank Lampard recorded his first win in the Premier League as Chelsea manager on Saturday as he saw his side overcome a difficult test from Norwich City.

The Blues took the lead inside the first three minutes of the match when Tammy Abraham netted the first of his two goals with a finely executed half-volley from inside the penalty area, but that lead was short-lived.

Todd Cantwell levelled the tie for the first time just moments later with a fine team goal as well, but Mason Mount managed to restore the away side’s advantage ten minutes later with a brilliant effort to get his name on the scoresheet in two successive matches.

Teemu Pukki got Norwich back into the game before half-time, but Abraham completed his brace in the second half to ensure Lampard’s men would be heading back to Stamford Bridge with the three points.

One player that did not appear to put a foot wrong throughout the game was Emerson Palmieri and fans took to Twitter to praise the defender for his performance.

Following Lampard’s arrival, the 25-year-old seems to have become the first-choice left-back for Chelsea as he has played in all four competitive matches the Blues have had so far (Transfermarkt), keeping Marcos Alonso out of the side in the process.

Valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, the Italy international earned recognition for his performance from fansite Pride of London as they gave him an eight out of ten, stating: “Emerson kept the ball circulated well, providing great support for other attacking players. He earned numerous corners and took a good free kick that his teammates did nothing productive with.”

Indeed, fans seemed to agree with how good his display was on Twitter and many of them took to the social networking site to share their opinions to his contribution.

Here are just some of their reactions…
