The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been growing increasingly concerned at the lack of transfer progress that their side is currently making…
Their fortunes appear to be changing, though, and with deals for Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko now all tied up, the Blues in the pub are now desperate for their side to sort out their attacking options.
Of course, at present, Michy Batshuayi is Chelsea’s only striker, given that Diego Costa has yet to return to training – with a move away seemingly on the horizon.
The Chelsea fans in the pub will likely be dancing on the pool tables this evening, then, with Fabrizio Romano of Sky Sports and the Guardian revealing on Twitter that Chelsea are in advanced talks over a deal for Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata.

Morata had a very good year with Real Madrid last season despite typically playing second-fiddle to Karim Benzema – with the Spaniard bagging 15 La Liga goals.
He rose to prominence during a spell with Juventus, and though he and Antonio Conte never crossed paths during their respective tenures in Turin, it is clear that the Spaniard’s fine form has not gone unnoticed by the Italian.
Our landlord is hoping that Chelsea seal this deal, as he fears that the Blues are running out of options.
