Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are shocked after Metro revealed that Croatian international striker Andrej Kramaric has turned his back on a move to the Blues to join relegation battlers Leicester City instead.
Kramaric, who plays for HNK Rijeka, has scored a sensational 26 goals in 25 games this term and he was strongly linked with a move to join Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.
A deal was all but complete but Kramaric has chosen Nigel Pearson’s side instead and has flown to London today to finalise a deal worth £9.4 million with the Foxes.
It is believed that Kramaric is against a move to Chelsea because he doesn’t want to get caught up in their expansive use of the loan system.
Chelsea currently have 25 players out on loan and have a cluster of young talent whose progression as footballers at Stamford Bridge is ultimately being hampered.
A fine example of a player who has had tough time as a result of their use of loan system is Ryan Bertrand.
He is currently on loan at Southampton which represents his seventh loan spell and Bertrand has voiced his frustration at the lack of opportunities at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea fans. Are you concerned that a young player has refused to join you because of the way you use the loan system? Let us know your thoughts below.
