The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Tammy Abraham’s fine form in the Championship will be deserving of a Stamford Bridge return this summer…
He has been fighting amongst the most prolific goalscorers in the Championship this season, having already picked up 21 goals so far this year.
Indeed, that has left a few of the Chelsea fans in the pub wondering if he could return to the club this summer, and in light of those suggestions – Abraham himself has come out and admitted that he is already thinking about the summer.
As per the Evening Standard, he said: “It’s something that has played with my mind. I’ll ask my parents and see what my agents are saying — but I think I need to get through this season first and finish on a high”.
Whilst Abraham is trying to focus on his football, with the likes of Leicester City reportedly courting him, his mind will undoubtedly occasionally stray to where he could play his football next season.
There is certainly an argument to be had to suggest that he should return to Chelsea. Diego Costa has struggled in recent weeks, whilst Michy Batshuayi has failed to make an impact under Antonio Conte. With the Blues fighting on another front next season, in in the form of the Champions League, Conte will be needing depth.
Whilst he is yet to really feature for the Blues, there is no doubting that Chelsea have high hopes for him.
Our landlord thinks that Abraham could be just the ticket.
Chelsea fans – thoughts? Is he good enough for Chelsea?
