The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have high hopes for young striker Tammy Abraham…
The Englishman has been on fire over the last year or so, making a real impression in the Championship whilst on loan at Bristol City.
He now faces a pretty big decision on where he will play his football next season, be it at Chelsea or elsewhere, but that apparently isn’t the only major decision on his mind at present. According to the Evening Standard, the Nigerian Football Association has been courting the striker over a potential national team allegiance switch – with Abraham able to play for the Super Eagles through his parents.
Significantly, though, the Evening Standard reports that the striker has already made a decision on the matter, and he is said to not be considering any move from Nigeria at present.
This would, of course, mean that Abraham will look to represent England going forward, as he has done during numerous spells with the developmental teams within the FA international setup.
It will come as no surprise that managers are desperate to secure the services of Abraham, both domestically and internationally, given how good the young forward is. In his first full season as a professional in a major league, Abraham managed to bag a remarkable 23 league goals – leaving the Chelsea fans in the pub in dreamland.
He is widely expected in the Transfer Tavern to make the move up to the Premier League this year, as he is clearly too good for the Championship, with a number of supporters in the pub hoping that he will move to their club.
